All of Colorado’s 14ers ridden by a snowboarder
Check out this link from Transworld Snowboard Magazine about Jarrett Luttrell and his success at being the first person to snowboard all 54 of Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks. There has been a lot of hype in the Jackson area about ski vs. snowboard mountaineering on websites like TetonAT
and StephenKoch.com, (Check out those highlighted links for some really intersting discussions).
This article is just another example of how snowboard mountaineering is progessing as a sport, and proving that just about anything can been done in the mountains with a snowboard. I thought it was nearly impossible to snowboard all of the 14ers in Colorado due to limitations on a board like traversing and sidestepping, but this guy showed that it can be done.
