For many, the month of October means enjoying mild temps, fall foliage and football. If you live in a mountain town and devote much of your energy to pursuits like shredding and climbing, chances are good that this is precisely the time of year when the weather turns and you start tweaking for the shred season. Accepting that any snow around before November is usually a tease, we’ve rebranded this crossroads month, Rocktober and dedicated ourselves to the mission of clearing our schedules to go somewhere warm to climb.

This piece by Michelle Smith documents our trip from the western slope of the Tetons to the Utah desert for a week of climbing and exploring at the legendary crack mecca of Indian Creek, Utah.
